Results of the Electron Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) analysis of subice sediments from the Camp Century Ice core analyzed in 2023. Authors: Collins C, Perdrial N, Bierman P Instrument: Oxford Instruments Aztec Elemental Mapping Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectrometer (Geology Department at Middlebury College, Vermont, USA) For each sample, 2 sites were mapped. For each site, the data consist in: 1. a .docx report for the point-and-shoot EDS analyses 2. several .csv files of individual element maps in matrix format. The element name and emission line(s) are provided in the filename. Some site also contain a grayscale (electron image) of the area analyzed Sample naming: Folder: CoreTube_Section-Subsection-site# Example of name: 1059_5_site1 --> Core tube: 1059, Section: 5, site: 1. Samples were carbon sputter-coated prior to analysis. EDS maps were acquired at 20 keV for a minimum of 20 frames totaling 10-minute elapsed time for each multi-elemental map. Point-and-shoot analyses were acquired at 20 keV for 60 seconds (deadtime corrected).
