Renewable Energy Sources

Though Nunavut is currently 100% petroleum fossil "fuelled" for our household and commercial energy, there is research, pilot projects and installations from Inuit organizations, researchers, hamlets and a strategy with the Qulliq Energy Corporation, to create hybrid energy systems to offset our fossil fuel reliance and carbon footprint.  

While Nunavummiut by population and carbon use are minimal in the global scheme of things, we can all do our part to be conscientious about our energy use and participate in change in our home, community and territory by knowing about renewable energy options.
