In the summer of 2007, the size of the polar sea ice reached a record low is WWF saw a trend that is continuing.  The WWF’s Global Arctic Program began focussing on the threat climate change posed to our polar bear habitat: the sea ice.

The World Wildlife Foundation (WWF-Canada) is an avid champion in supporting local, territorial and national action for Nunavut.  Long before the public understood global warming’s existential threat to the cryosphere (our snow- and ice-covered land and waters), their efforts brought clarity to the Arctic’s climate crisis.
