Meet Your Instructor

Helen Roos

Helen brings over 25 years direct experience in 

senior management roles with provincial and federal government. She moved to Nunavut on June 1, 1999, assisting the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development with the establishment of the Nunavut Regional Office, and the implementation of the Nunavut Agreement.  She has direct experience managing up to project grants as well as regional and national contribution programs up to $40 million.  Her background in results-based accountability, financial management, human resource management and strategic planning for indigenous and Northern communities and not-for-profit organizations gives her a unique perspective for Financial Administration and Management trainee curriculum design and instruction.

Helen has an M.A. (Western); Ph.D. studies (Ottawa) and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Education studies (Calgary).
