The script merge_explode_parseYears.py was run to process the files Lakes_IngmarPDG_annual_area.nc and INitze_Lakes_merged_v3_PDG_Testset.gpkg. The output of this script is the geopackages separated by year (see each annual folder). In the script, NA values were removed from the two attributes of interest, the files were merged, and the data was “exploded” (all geometries converted to single polygons if not already a single polygon).

The annual folders in this directory have been produced to use an input into the Permafrost Discovery Gateway (PDG) visualization workflow. The output of each workflow run is an individual layer for the PDG for attributes “permanent water”” and “seasonal water”” based on Ingmar’s 2 files, the geopackage and netCDF. The output tilesets and other files from the visualization workflow are separated by run (year) and archived at /var/data/10.18739/A28G8FK10.
